Hearing Aid Dispensing
We do our own audiometric testing as it relates
to hearing loss and hearing aid fittings to insure you get the full
benefit of our years of experience. While we believe in keeping
up with the latest in testing procedures, fitting philosophies, and
verification techniques we also believe that each hearing aid fitting
is being done to a unique individual and the hearing aid must be fit
to the person's perception of what they are hearing as well as the
scientific and academic facts we can measure. The computerized
hearing aid fittings done today are the result of averaging tens of
thousands of hearing aid fittings but in all our years of hearing aid
fitting we have yet to fit our first average hearing loss.
Everyone is unique and must be treated and fit that way. This is
what we believe and our philosophy of how we will fit our patients.
Refitting of Existing
Hearing Aids
We also refit and reprogram patients existing
hearing aids that were bought elsewhere but that they are currently
unable to wear or are just not doing well with them. While we
can't work with every brand we can work with most of the major brands
(excluding Miracle Ear and Beltone which are closed operating systems
that only a Miracle Ear or Beltone dealer can program). This is
a service we do charge for but we work on a success only fee basis.
If we can't improve a person's clarity we will reinstall the original
program(s) and give a complete refund for all of our services.
Hearing Aid Repair Services:
We do not do in-house repairs of hearing aids
for major problems. We do send the hearing aids to either the
manufacturer who originally built the aid or to a major repair lab for
service. Minor repairs and clean is done in-house, generally
while you wait.
We offer repairs with either your choice of a six-month or one-year
warranty through the repair center we used. It should be noted
that some of the manufacturers have started to deny repairs after
three to five years but we attempt to have these repairs done in one
of the major independent repair labs around the country when this
happens. It should be noted that when this happens, sometimes,
factory original parts are no longer available and the aid may be
repaired using used parts. Rush service is available upon
request but there is surcharge for this service.
Earmolds
We use one of the finest, in our opinion,
earmold lab in the country. We therefore have available a full
line of earmold styles and materials as well as swim plugs, We
also provide earmolds for in-ear monitors for musician's as well as
musician's hearing protectors. In addition we are now
taking impressions for earmolds to be used with BlueTooth headsets and
for use with iPods and MP3 players.
Consulting Services
Hearing Resources consulting service is designed
to answer technical questions about hearing loss and hearing products.
We help you find what hearing aids and /
or assistive products
will best benefit you or your client in the work environment, at home
or at play. This service is designed for Agencies such as Vocational
Rehabilitation as well as for individual clients who want an
independent evaluation to take to their hearing aid dispenser or
audiologist. This is not designed to be a prescription service but
rather an informational service supplying details of why you would
best benefit from certain features in your hearing aid and not others.
Our recommended solution may not be a new hearing aid but
possibly an assistive device coupled with your current hearing aid.
You will need to send a current hearing test and fill out a
hearing survey. The cost
for this service is $120.00 per person.
